TRACY
a big-data analyTics from base-stations Registrations And Cdrs e-evidence sYstem
(06/2023 – 05/2025)
Aim:To develop cutting-edge data analytics and artificial intelligence solutions to address the challenges of crime resolution by LEAs while adhering to the regulations set by the European Union and its Member States regarding the collection of evidence data.
The TRACY project aims at gaining a deeper understanding of the operational procedures involved in resolving crimes, particularly focusing on data-driven evidence processing. This includes investigating the methods, tools, and type of evidence data utilized.
The proposed TRACY solution is an open-source platform thatutilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and telecommunications metadata in an fully operational environment, by running large scale pilots on the premises of a Law Enforcement Agency (LEA) participating in the project, while respecting fundamental rights and personal data protection laws, such as the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For greater impact, the solution will be validated by additional LEAs - partners of the project, with the intention of continued use beyond the completion of the project. LEAs personnel will be trained on project outcomes. TRACY will alsoprovide a realistic anonymized dataset and share it with EU LEA community.
The consortium consists of nine partners from six different countries: Performance Technologies - Greece (Project Coordinator), IDIAP Research Institute - Switzerland (Scientific and Technical Manager), Timelex – Belgium, COSMOTE – Greece, Center for Security Studies – Greece, Hochschule für den öffentlichen Dienst in Bayern, Hellenic Police, Romanian Police, Police of the Republic of Moldova.
