As soon as the activation is completed, you will receive a free SMS with a URL. Click on the URL link to complete your registration. Fill in your personal email which will also be your username to access the service. That’s where you’ll receive the service notifications.
Then download the COSMOTE Family Safety parent application on your smartphone and indicate the devices you wish to control.
Finally, download the COSMOTE Family Safety child application on your child’s devices you wish to control (Apple Store – Google Store – PC Client).
You will need your username and password to install and login to the above mentioned applications.
To deactivate the service (parent) you can choose one of the options listed below:
The service will still be available until its expiration, at which time the customer will be notified by free SMS for its deactivation.
Following this, your child’s device will no longer be protected and you will not be able to access/login to any application.
The service does not affect the COSMOTE mobile network speed neither the WiFi connection you’re connected to.
The child’s online experience is not affected in terms of speed.
As to Android operating systems, the child will notice a difference while browsing through the Internet as he or she will now use the COSMOTE Family Safety child browser.
For iOS operating systems, the browser used is still the Safari browser. Furthermore, as a VPN client installed with the child’s application is used for browsing protection, there will be a VPN flag indicating that the child’s device is being protected.
The parent application is available on Google Store and App Store. Once you download it on your smartphone and open it, you can insert the email you indicated upon registering. Then you will have to set a password and connect to the application. Through this application you will be able to indicate the devices you wish to control following the application instructions.
Using the parent application and adding one device, the parent can send a link to the device he or she wishes to protect. Then, the parent has to check the child’s device and depending on the device’s operating system, be transferred either to Google Store or to App Store and download the COSMOTE Family Safety child application.
Upon opening the application, the parent will type an email and password and follow the steps required by the application to complete the installation.
For Android operating systems, the application asks the parent to activate the device manager to ensure that the child will not uninstall the application without the parent’s password.
For iOS operating systems, the parent is informed on how to set a restriction code when installing the child application to prevent the child from uninstalling the COSMOTE Family Safety child application and other applications on the child’s device.
For PC (Windows), the parent, again using the parent application, can select the Family PC profile and send the installation link via email. By clicking on the link in the email, the parent can install the application on the family PC/laptop. Then he or she will have to type an email and password to connect to the application and activate the device’s protection.
The parent can uninstall the application from the child’s device, depending on the operating system, by following the instructions listed below:
For Android operating systems:
For iOS operating systems:
For Windows PC operating systems:
The parent has to click on programs to uninstall the application. The parent has to connect to Windows as administrator in order to be able to uninstall the application.
Since your child uses the COSMOTE Family Safety App on an iOS-enabled mobile device and over a mobile network and the application requires a VPN client to protect Internet traffic, mobile carriers may impose restrictions on preferential charges or zero billing programmes (e.g. SOCIAL NOW, PLAY NOW, etc).
